The Gujarat Government in order to strengthen the aviation
sector in the state has planned to come up with India's first-ever Aviation
Park in Gujarat. The park will have facilities like training school, helipad,
airstrip and space for creating small manufacturing units.
The officials of the Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure
Company Ltd (GUJSAIL) said that the prime aim of setting up this park is to
raise awareness about the potential of the aviation sector among students,
professionals, policy makers and business entities.
GUJSAI has recently identified a piece of land near Bagodara
village, about 30 kms from Ahmedabad to carry out the project.
GUJSAIL CEO Captain Ajay Chauhan said that the park will
serve as a one-stop destination in the avenues of aerospace training, research,
recreation and manufacturing. Chauhan further said that they want to set up a
complete eco-system where everything related to aviation sector is easily
available under one roof.
The park initially will provide a platform for informing
people about the aviation activities. The park apart from a theatre and an
info-tech area, will also have space for organising air-shows and other
adventure sports related to aviation. Chauhan also said the park will provide
an aviation and aerospace management school, training complex having flight
simulator, an aircrew training school, a landing strip for smaller aircrafts
and a helipad for professionals.
According to Chauhan the first phase of the park may be open
by the end of next financial year of 2016-17.He said that the second phase of
development will focus on to attract various national and international
industrial houses to build their manufacturing facilities in this park. He
added that in the later stages the aviation park will have small manufacturing
units to produce spare parts for aircraft.
