Assam pace sensation Krishna Das has been selected for India
A.The Indian selectors on Tuesday picked up two teams- India ‘A’ and India ‘B’
for the Deodhar Trophy cricket tournament, starting January 24. Baroda batsman
Ambati Rayudu has been selected as India 'A' team captain and Delhi's Unmukt
Chand will lead India 'B'.
Krishna, who hails from Barpeta, took his 100th wicket in
the Ranji match against Delhi in Guwahati. Krishna achieved this feat in the
27th match, trapping Gautam Gambhir LBW
for a duck.
The 25-year-old Krishna has played extraordinary cricket in
Assam’s Ranji Trophy group A league campaign in the 2015-16 season. The
long-limbed pacer took 44 wickets from eight matches and became the fifth
highest wicket-taker of the season. Krishna also picked up Unmukt Chand to have
101 under his belt and with this feat he became the second fastest from Assam
to achieve the mark in only 27 Ranji matches.Krishna’s achievement includes five-wicket
hauls with the best being seven for 21 against Odisha in Cuttack.
